Personally I think accounting is one of the most over rated and under paid white collar profession in Kenya today. Still, thousands in campus select the profession by believing in social myth such as "every business needs an accountant", "accounting is a recession proof profession" and "accountants are well paid" etc Only to find themselves struggling to find a job after graduation or barely making more than the minimum wage. I already know of my two friends and they are on 35k and 45k per month with 4yr or so experience. Some tend to argue accountants are well paid as long as you have some experience and CPA/Bcom completed, I personally have not come across one accountant who earns...
